The City consists of six districts represented by one alderman for each district. The current Council President is Gary Lee Payson Jr. (April 2025 - April 2026).
Elected Officials serve two-year terms. Districts 1, 2 and 5 are elected on alternating years with Districts 3, 4 and 6. See Running for Office or contact the City Clerk if you are interested in running for Mayor or Council.
Common Council meetings are held the first and third Mondays of the month at 5:30 p.m. or later in the Council Chambers at the City Administration Offices, 311 Seymour Ct., Elkhorn.

- Go to the City's GIS Mapping Portal, which clearly shows streets and allows you to zoom in, to find your District. (The the "Voting" layer to show districts on the map.)
- Go to My Vote Wisconsin, enter your address, and it will tell you your District and Alderman with contact information.
